How to choose a custom made bed

Feb 13, 2019

A custom made bed and mattress will mean years of better sleep and comfort. Which in turn means a healthier and more product life. So spending a bit of time to ensure you have a bed that is perfect for you, is well worth the investment.

There are various factors and features you may consider when designing a new bed. Some of the most important include:

1. It’s all about you

We’re all different. No one bed is ideal for everyone. People’s requirements for support will differ depending on their weight, age, build and sleeping posture. A custom built bed can be tailored to your unique needs and requirements.

Do you sleep mainly on your side or do you spend a large amount of time on you back or stomach? You may need a softer bed and mattress that contours with your body. Or a firmer bed that offers support if you suffer from lower back problems.

2. Size and shape of your room

Another advantage of a custom bed is that it can be tailored to fit the dimensions of the bedroom. A huge bed in a small, irregular shaped room is not ideal. You want easy access, with plenty of space around your bed to relax properly.

If you don’t have room for a big wardrobe, or you don’t know where to put your spare sheets then consider a drawer bed. A base with drawers can provide under bed storage and can be a great space saver.

3. Materials and design

Your new bed should be aesthetically pleasing as well as functional. It also needs to be durable and long lasting. The material used and construction methods will determine the longevity and quality of a bed.

The type of material also depends on the type of bed you want. You may want a queen sized drawer bed with memory foam or a king single bed with an innerspring mattress.
